Policy Reference Group

MABEL has a policy reference group (PRG) comprising of senior members of the following organisations.

Department of Health and Ageing
Department of Human Services (Victoria)
Health Workforce Principal Committee
Queensland Health
Rural Doctors Association of Australia
Rural Health Workforce Australia

 

The Policy Reference Group will provide the main link between MABEL and the key stakeholders in the medical workforce policy area. The PRG will be involved from the inception of the survey through its initial first four waves and will meet up to twice a year.

Terms of reference

  1. To inform the chief investigators of current, medium and long term policy issues that can potentially be examined by MABEL. This information will be used to inform the content of the survey and the research questions addressed when the data are analysed, within the overall aims of the survey.
  2. To act as a forum for the communication and discussion of emerging research findings from MABEL.
  3. To provide advice on how best to ensure the success of MABEL in terms of:
          i) survey processes such as response rates and publicity, and;
          ii) the use and implementation of research findings from MABEL.
  4. To act as a mechanism to build research capacity and effective working relationships between academics and government.
